If you have never heard of Twilight (the movie, not the time before night time) then you probably don't have a teenage daughter (or son) or maybe you don't keep your finger on the cultural pulse as much as you should. Twilight is the massively popular series of novels and films.Well, the Twilight buzz is bound to go up another few levels in the next couple of months with the release of the Jacob Barbie doll. You may think this is a bit over the top but hear me out.

In brief, Twilight is a love story between a teenage girl, Bella and a handsome but slightly aloof teenage boy Edward (turns out he is a vampire and 117 years old). In the first novel/film tends to be mainly about these two lead characters. Jacob had a small role in the first book/movie. He is a friend of Bella and helps her out when she first comes to Forks.

With the launch of the second movie, Jacob gets much more to do. The second book/movie, called New Moon, imore heavily focused on Jacob. Although the love story between Bella and Edward continues to bubble under the surface, we gain an insight into Jacob's life and much of the plot focuses on the deepening relationship between Bella and Jacob. The movie went on general release late last year so I won't give away the plot but part of the promotions for the movie involved asking people to choose between Jacob and Edward (much like Bella has to do in the movie ?)

You where asked if you were on Team Edward or Team Jacob. Many fans of the story plumped for Jacob. Besides this 'commitment' to the character fans were charmed by the strong performance given by the actor who plays Jacob (Taylor Lautner), which endeared even more fans to the character. Thus ever since the New Moon movie was released, eager fans have been begging for memorabilia in some shape and form.

Plenty of memorabilia was already in place, including many twilight dolls. You see, both factions (the good and the bad) are from Cybertron. This entire story from the occurrences on this planet and the fights they campaigned afterward produce a standard good vs. Evil base. The film just generates a glance into the warfare that the Autobots and the Decepticons have been combating for a long time. Megatron desires a lot of things. Among these things that he desires is the Allspark that's upon Earth, because this is the instrument that animates machines.

Megatron and Prime were once acquaintances it's presumed, though today they're forever up at arms. It's thought that Optimus is saddened at the fact of what the Autobots and Decepticons could have done collectively, where Megatron merely sees it entirely laughable. Their animosity started while Megatron turned on the bots from Cybertron and organized the Decepticons.

Megatron went to Earth to pillage its natural resources with the help of the other Decepticons after Cybertron was in shambles. He was pursued there by Optimus Prime and his loyal Autobots to thwart this process. That is how the battle moved to Earth in the first place. Cybertron was emptied out of all of its resources and life trying to sustain a war for years, and its revival was directly related to Earth's destruction. So Megatron set off to pillage our world, and Optimus Prime set out to stop him.

Colorado Bans Texting And Driving

On December 1st, Governor Bill Ritter signed into law a bill criminalizing text messaging while driving. The new law will make texting and driving a Class A driving infraction. The new law recognizes the inherent danger in texting while driving, however, the law doesn't go far enough for many proponents of stricter legislation regarding the use of cell phones in vehicles. When the bill was originally introduced it carried language prohibiting the use of cell phones in vehicles unless a hands free device was used. After meeting opposition from both sides of the aisle over the cell phone usage restrictions, the law will only prohibit drivers under the age of eighteen from using cell phones while driving. As texting is a relatively new phenomenon, there is not significant data on point to show just how dangerous cell phone use (including texting) truly is. As more data emerges on cell phone use and its correlation to car accidents, expect more legislation to arise across the country.

Surely those were the hardest years? Now they are growing up. Now they are a bit more independent, a bit more mature, surely things will get easier? They are big enough to help out with some chores. They can look after themselves for an evening if you want a well earned night off. You can have sensible conversations with them.

So what goes wrong when they hit that-th Birthday??? In many cultures they would now be considered adults - old enough to marry, old enough to sit in the village council to listen to the debates with the elders. Yet in the West, the teen years seem, so often, to be full of strife and conflict. Why does this occur?

Simply stated it is due to human growth and societal expectations.

The brain is complex. It is in a great state of growth and development during the teenage years. It is always growing, expanding, evaluating, and making links. These links build the foundation for memory, learning, perception, and social rationale.

During the first twelve years the brain learns a lot - it changes the child from a non-verbal, poorly coordinated baby to a verbal, literate, sociable and pretty competent pre- teen.

Then the teenage years hit the brain like a tornado. The brain goes into a state of shambles after which it rebuilds itself. While your brain is rebuilding itself your child might not be able to do some of the things they could before. For example, speaking to the opposite sex has suddenly become virtually impossible without becoming quite nervous. Throughout the teen years your child will need to understand the components of social interaction and how they fit into the whole social scene. They will make friends and strive to find their sexual ife partner.

Comprehending the ins and outs of the social scene can be difficult for their teenage brain. Their brain goes back and forth between its methods of operation during their pre-teen years and how they are expected to act as teens. This tug-of-war can make the social behavior of a teenager inconsistent and sometimes perplexing.

Add in to this a healthy dose of fluctuating sex hormones, plus some classical teenage sleep deprivation, and is it any wonder that more often than not they seem to be "loaded for bear"? Watch out, lest they bite your head off for no apparent reason!

Teens also have to deal with the different expectations placed on them now that they are older. They hear every day from many sources that they "should" be doing certain things and the definitions between normal and abnormal. Expectations for how they should act during each year of their teenage experience is detailed by their parents, friends, teachers, police, and society. It can be hard for a teenager to discern exactly how they should act when they have all these people forcing their opinions on them.

But there is a problem with expectations. Every time you have one, you have the potential for a problem. A behavior is only a behavior; until someone says that it "should not" be happening. Then, suddenly, it is a problem.

The combination of the varying expectations, sex hormones, and plain teenage angst cause your teenager to act like a pleasant dear one minute and a force to be reckoned with the next.

How do you cope with a teenager that is up and down in their emotions and actions? You can use some of these tips. When you have a fight with your teenager or you are just sick of what they are doing, take heed of the following:

1) Fighting and yelling are not effective.

2) Your teenager wants to have the best outcome as well. They are relying on the extent of their perceptions and skills which could be far different from yours.

3) Remember your teenager is still trying to sort life out and may not understand either why you are fighting.

4) Why is it such a big problem? Whose expectation has not been met? Is this really a significant pothole on the highway of life?

5) Brainstorm different ways of communicating with your teenager besides forcing them to see things your way.

6) Your teenager will outgrow the teenager years in a matter of a few years. Think about the future and what kind of memories you want to create.

With that being said, it is a good idea to have rules and expectations. However, don't get so uptight. Don't be so strict that your teenager wants to avoid you. However, sitting for long periods of time playing video games, being on the computer, or watching TV, can cause dryness and irritation to the eyes. Strain doesn't come from the lack of movement because we get plenty in our daily lives.

Looking at any one object too long can cause the eyes to be tired and fatigued. But sitting at a computer desk for too long can be hard on not just your eyes but the rest of your body as well.

I've been eating candy since I was a kid. While I don't have as much now as I did then, I still have a sweet tooth that begs for attention once in a while. Sometimes, I think about the candies from my tough that no longer exist.

They used to be mainstays in candy stores, pharmacies, and grocery stores, but they seem to be gone and out of reach these days. Let's take a look at some of the more enjoyable candies from the past that no longer seem to exist.

The first one that comes to mind is Bonkers. I remember these being one of the most popular candies on the market, and their TV commercials were just as enjoyable as the candies themselves.

From the grape and strawberry fruit flavors to a tasty chocolate flavored chewy candy, there was a lot to love about Bonkers. Unfortunately, they quietly removed themselves from the candy scene. This came as a surprise to me and many friends as well.

Bubble gum was seemingly more popular 20 years ago than it is today. One of the most prominent forms of gum that I remember is the kind that came inside a mini juice box. There was a face on the front, and they were offered in a few flavors.

They were little pebble shaped drops of gum, and they were absolutely delicious. This was some of the best gum I've ever chewed. Again, it's been a really long time since I've seen these.

Finally, you might remember that the Mars bar was one of the most popular candy bars a number of years ago. If you were to look on store shelves today, you'd notice that they're nowhere to be found. Did the Mars bar disappear?

Well, you'll be happy to know that they're "disguised" now, as the old Mars bar is now the Snickers almond bar that you see in many stores. If you're in the mood for a Mars bar, now you know exactly how to get your fix.

I wonder who makes up all these stories and whether they have to be sanctioned by Lucas before hand.

All that can be said is that the creators of Star Wars have a very good imagination. A relatively new piece of merchandise that accompanies the Star Wars tales is the Clone Trooper Voice changer helmet. This is really made for kids to role play their favorite scenes from the Star Wars movies or Clone Wars TV series. Or they can create their own adventures.

The clone trooper helmet is a good replica of the helmets used by clone troopers in the Star Wars movies and the TV series that focused on the Clone wars as their central theme.

The clone wars were basically the start of the end for the republic and the creation of the empire under Palpatine. It was probably the most significant event in the history of the Star Wars galaxy (that we know about anyway). The Detroit Pistons Season Outlook

The Detroit Pistons wish to forget the 08'-09' season. They were under .500 for the first time in many years and were dominated in the first round against the Cleveland Cavaliers, it was an embarrassment.

The Pistons were the bench mark in the Eastern Conference - in 04' they upset the heavily favored Los Angeles Lakers. Many feel the Pistons could have one more championships but were living off their one championship win and didn't have the desire or passion anymore - whether that's true or not no one really knows. What we do know is the Pistons played well below their standards accumulating a 39-43 record - the Pistons going 4 games below .500 is unheard of.

The Allen Iverson trade was a disaster and the Pistons played disinterested at times. The Pistons would go on long scoring droughts which essentially ended their season at the all-star break. They were wishing they had Billups back!

For the Chicago Bulls Ben Gordon averaged 21 points per game and made many important shots against the Boston Celtics in the first round in the 09' playoffs.

In 08'-09' Charlie Villanueva averaged 16 points per game, the highest of his career and at 6-11, he gives the Pistons some size up front.

This is the year nobody really knows what they will see from the Detroit Pistons. When teams get new faces people automatically assume the team will improve, that doesn't always happen. Yes, the Detroit Pistons are a playoff team but can they compete with Boston? Cleveland? Orlando? The Pistons hope Rodney Stuckey is their franchise point guard for years to come. The Pistons still have Richard Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince who have many playoff game experience.

There's some talented youth in Rodney Stuckey, and he'll finally have the opportunity to shine at the point guard position. Additionally, Jason Maxiell will continue to develop, and Chris Wilcox will provide the team with some solid minutes at the forward and center positions.

The Indie Band of the Decade Analysis

It seems like the decade was just beginning. I can remember witnessing the transformation from alternative rock to indie music as the preferred genre for so many fans, and boy, was it exciting. Since the decade is winding down now, I'd like to take a few minutes to honor the bands that I believe to be the best of the decade.

Let's take a look at the contenders for band of the decade, and then I'll give my personal opinion at the end. Naturally, even the nominees here are all subject to opinion and yours may be different.

The first time I heard the White Stripes, I heard their White Blood Cells album, and I was floored. Their sound was a classic one, but a fresh sounding one at that. This band's work was full of energy, and Jack and Meg White were great.

The layered sound that two musicians were able to produce is remarkable, and the band's success spawned off a handful of other bands whose influences were rooted in garage rock. It was great to hear the White Stripes then, and it still is now.

Next on the list is Radiohead. Many might call them the band of the 90s, but they've been just as integral this past decade, further polishing and evolving their sound.

Every Radiohead album seems to build on the one before it, with more experimental and adventurous music filling out every one of the band's releases. Radiohead as produced some consistently incredible music.

Last on the list here is Wilco. A band that's equal parts classic rock, alt country, and experimental, this band has made quite the impact during the past decade.

Wilco is a figurehead in the indie rock movement, as their story couldn't be more pure. Having dropped their record label after the company thought Wilco's record was too experimental, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot enjoyed enormous critical success when released, and many call it one of the best albums of the decade.

Especially this year, when the chances of rejection are greater, kids will find it tough to apply for jobs and keep a positive attitude. This year is a bad time for both employers and job seekers.

Young teens probably wont qualify for many of the real jobs that are out there as older teens and even adults may quickly take all those jobs. Jobs will be filling up fast and those that are picky may miss out. This means young teenagers will have to try to think of alternative ways to make money by perhaps doing odd jobs around the neighborhood such as pet sitting and lawn care.

As summer is already here, those teens that are just starting to look for a job may find they are out of luck and it is too late. Their only hope is that a few jobs may open up and the economy starts to turn around before the end of summer. Patience will be important for them, as they will have to try to keep a positive attitude and keep looking. If you are a 5 year old kid, it's hamsters. If you are a teenager, then it's Twilight. What, you haven't heard of the Twilight series ? Some have even described it as a cultural phenomenon because of the extent that it has moved people. In short, it is a romance story about a teenage girl that falls for a vampire. And with the recent release of the 2nd movie, New Moon, various merchandise has been produced to tie in.

One such item that ties in is the Twilight Dolls and action figures. They are bound to sell well over Christmas and onwards, as Twilight fanatics collect all sorts of memorabilia of their favorite story. Or many people will prefer to leave them in the packaging as a collectible.

At present there are two varieties of Twilight dolls. There are the dolls made by Mattel and those made by NECA.

The Mattel dolls are the famous Barbie dolls - Yes, Twilight has been given the Barbie treatment. If there was ever any doubts that the Twilight story was a phenomenon, then being turned into a Barbie doll series must seal the deal.

At present the Twilight Barbie dolls only feature Edward and Bella, but there are reports that Jacob will soon be made. Bella looks like a Barbie, with changes to the face to look more like Kirsten Stewart. And the outfit looks like one that may have been worn by Bella in the movies. The Edward doll bears a resemblance to actor Robert Pattinson who plays Edward in the movie (or rather the face does). Other than that, the doll is basically a Ken doll. The doll's clothing is similar to how the character might have dressed in the movies. These are authentic merchandise, which include a tag on the clothing and a logo on the stand from Summit Entertainment to vouch for this fact.

Once kids lose that fear of the darkness they long to play on as night time approaches and even like playing at night. It must seem like a whole new world to discover to new eyes, and in reality it is. All sorts of animals come out at night when the world is in darkness and do strange things (like tipping the trash can over !). However the main drawback of playing at night and in the dark is that the eyes aren't up to it. We can't see in the dark and this hampers any chances of playing at night time to any degree. Well now that could all be a thing of the past with the new Stealth goggles and binoculars.

Stealth goggles, referred to as version 1 and stealth binoculars, known as version 2 go by the name EyeClops Night Vision Infrared Stealth Goggles and are made by Jakks. They are designed for kids 8 years and over for the purpose of playing various games at night.

They use the same technology as the proper night vision gear you might expect the military to use - namely infrared frequency light to illuminate the night. This produces a fairly good picture of what is going on around you, in green or black and white images.

The goggles are referred to as stealth because there are two modes. The first mode is the stealth mode that allows totally covert operations. This means the goggles are totally undetectable - no visible light or sound whatsoever.

The 2nd mode, called the surveillance mode, affords a longer range, (apparently 50 feet at the upper limits) but it gives off a red light. If you are well concealed this might not be noticeable but it is obviously not as stealthy as the first mode.

Version 1 is a set of goggles which affix to the head with rubber straps. They can fit snugly to the face ensuring comfort even when wearing them for a fairly long period of time. The goggles have a soft rubber front that molds to the shape of the persons face so that no light can escape out. There are caps over the eyepieces too, such that you can flip them up or down and see in infrared or use your normal night time vision. This means you don't have to remove the goggles unless you really want to.

The binoculars give you more flexibility to switch between infrared vision and normal night time vision, but of course, you have to use your hands to operate them. This could cause people to lose interest in the binoculars if they need hands free night vision abilities.

Both make fun toys however they do take a bit of getting used to and you can't run around whilst using them. If goggles don't sound like you, then how about some stealth night vision binoculars instead. - 30797

The Nerf Raider CS 35 is the latest dart blaster gun to come out of the Elves workshop that we call NERF toys. It's an innovation on previous guns because it has a rapid fire option that does not require batteries to work. It's a bit like a semi-automatic or pump action dart gun. This is sure to give you the edge when it comes to any nerf wars you have lined up this year or the next. Here is a short outline of what you can expect of your Raider CS35 gun.

The common drawback with a full on nerf war was a limited firepower. Fair enough, you could carry a few darts with you and reload each time you fire but nothing is quite the same as an rapid fire mode to deliver a withering rate of fire at the opposition. This has changed with the CS-35.

It belongs to the N-Strike line of guns, meaning it is not a velcro tipped dart. It can be easily adjusted in the stock so that anyone can fire it comfortably. It looks like a standard Nerf gun except that it has a drum magazine attached. The drum magazine holds 35 darts.

The gun can be fired in single shot mode or rapid fire. I'll not cover the single shot option as the rapid fire option is more interesting. The rapid fire setting uses the pump action of the stock to generate air pressure that is the force behind any dart leaving the gun (you can get a fair distance with a dart, across a medium sized back garden). By keping the finger depressed on the trigger, you can effect an automatic (or semi automatic) fire rate each time you pump the stock. Therefore firing can be done as rapidily as you work the pump action.

The magazine comes in a see through plastic so that you can view how many rounds you have fired and when you have to reload. Reloading the drum magazine can take a bit of getting used to and will take time initially but the more you do it, the easier it will get. If you are involved in a full on nerf war, then make sure you have a nice hideaway where you can go to reload.

You can buy the Raider CS 35 separately or as part of a starter kit that comes with an extra 65 darts (100 in total). Although the value pack is more money, it is a better option as you are bound to lose a few darts here and there.

This dart blaster gun would be a perfect stocking filler or Christmas gift for children 8 and up. It's probably more of a boys gift and it wouldn't surprise me if the odd adult or two would fancy a gift like this too. - 30797

Dinosaur Toys - Interactive, Robot Dinosaurs Make Ideal Dinopets

All kids seem to go through a dinosaurs phase at some point in their childhood. I'm not sure what the exact fascination is but I can guess that these weird looking creatures just get into their imagination and they want to learn everything they can about them. For children that prefer a more hands on experience, then an interactive dinosaur toy might be the ticket. Having a robotic pet is a huge craze this Christmas, so why not be original and go for a robotic dinopet instead of a hamster, cat, dog or parrot ? This article will describe three such "pets" and to whom they might suit.

The first interactive dinosaur toy goes by the name of D-Rex. He is a Tyrannosaurus Rex the king of all dinosaurs, even though he only lived in one period of the Dinosaur years and much of the information we have is speculation. I would suggest that D-Rex as a fun toy for kids 6 and up. Adults will probably get a kick out of him too (or maybe that should be a bite).

He is quite clever - he can sense movement and sound. He can also follow things that move or make sounds. He can guard things and use his impressive set of fangs to bite anything that moves. He can also make funny noises from the front and rear ends of his body, with comical effects. He will make different noises depending on how and where you stroke him. He is quite clever, fairly predictable after a while but mostly fun in the intervening period.

Pleo is a Camarasaurus. In fact he is described as a one week old, orphaned Camarasaurus who needs some TLC. He is searching for a loving family. It's safe to say that Pleo is the more complex interactive dinosaur toy of the three presented here. In truth he is hardly a toy. He can learn from his experiences and will grow (personality wise that is - not size wise - this is described as artificial intelligence ) based on how you treat and bring him up.

He can also be happy, moody and a variety of affectations based on how you treat him (he even acts sleepy when his battery is running down). He has more mechanical and robotic parts than the other toys and also sports more sensors and a changeable software mind. This can be updated to give the little fellow more abilities, functionality and appear more intelligent.

Kota is the last dinosaur featured and he is also a baby. He is a baby triceratops. In my experience, kids have three favorite types of dinosaur and the triceratops is always one of them. This is mainly because he is one of the most recognizable dinosaurs that we know of.

Kota is created for young children and toddlers (with supervision). He is best summed up as an interactive dinosaur rocking horse. He is a big toy that younger kids can ride on. He will rock up and down and roar. Alternatively, you can play music from him. Children can feed and stroke him too. He will respond to this by pretending to eat, moving his head and other parts of his body, including the stumpy tail. - 30797

If your parents are looking at boarding schools, you might be worried about what to expect next fall. Your only experiences with boarding schools are probably from books and movies like Harry Potter, where teenagers are stuck all year in a far-away school with abusive teachers and fellow classmates. None of these ideas are necessarily true. There are all sorts of schools out there, and if you can look upon it as an opportunity to learn how to live on your own, you might find yourself enjoying the experience.

These students may suffer from severe depression, drug/alcohol abuse, anger management, and a variety of other problems. Some students at these schools also suffer from learning disabilities or other disabilities that interfere with learning. Students receive individual and group counseling and may be given extra help with academics to help them catch up with their peers back home. The environment is generally highly structured to help keep them on task.

For example, there will probably be a curfew--a time you have to be in your room with the lights out. However, your new school will also give you plenty of free time, and it will be up to you how to spend it.

Whether at a college-prep school or a therapeutic school, students living away from home will learn to be more independent at an earlier age. Students are given structure, but they also have the opportunity to choose what to do with their time, whether that be homework, a club activity, or just relaxing. The innovation is in how you steer your machine. You have a dual control, like the joystick you might find in an airplane (only times 2). The dual control columns allow the rider to steer the rear wheels and apply a disk brake to the forward big wheel.

By messing around with the controls you can surprise yourself at the number of stunts you can pull, like'0, 360 and 540 degree turns. As the tricycle is so low to the ground and the control system ensures that you keep the center of gravity on the machine in the middle, it is unlikely that you will flip or tip over too. Once a child develops a little confidence in the machine he/she will be able to perform all sorts of stunts and will be eager to think up new tricks.

The Green Machine 2 will give your kids the opportunity to get plenty of exercise and develop confidence in their own abilities. What is the current babysitter rate? This seems to be one of the most common questions asked these days. It is also a question that doesn't have one definite answer. On the average, sitters are usually paid anywhere from $3-$12. This seems to be quite a wide bracket. This is only because there are several factors that determine the exact rate of pay.

Location

Different areas of location can have different rates. Urban areas in particular may have steeper rates than rural ones. You may be able to get an idea of rates in your particular area by looking for online average rates. You could also survey your neighbors on how much they would consider paying a sitter. If you have a particular preference for a sitter who lives far away, you may have to pay her extra due to transportation expenses.

Number of Kids

The number of kids is a big factor in determining rates. You can hardly expect a sitter to work for only $3 if she has to watch over three kids or more. Aside from the number of kids, you also have to consider the ages of the kids she has to look after. Younger kids and babies are naturally more difficult to watch over. They may be hard to discipline and they have many needs that require the babysitter's attention. You would therefore have to pay a high rate if you have a toddler. Sitter's Age

You would really need an older teen or an adult sitter if you have lots of kids or if you have young kids that need minding. Young babysitters may not know how to handle small kids or respond to emergency situations.

Experience

The sitter's babysitting experience should also be considered, of course. Those who have extensive experience would charge a lot. Those who have special first aid and emergency training would also want to receive more.

Work Details

These rates are only for the basic duties of babysitters. Often though, you would have to ask your sitter to perform a couple of extra tasks. You may have to pay extra if you expect her to cook for the kids or tutor them. Other work details that affect the rate include number of hours of work and specific hours of the day on duty. Night sitters may require high rates.

Specific Days on the Month

The addition of point guard Chauncey Billups essentially changed their season for the better once he arrived in town. Billups brought a defensive mentality from the Detroit Pistons who were one of the best defensive teams of the decade.

Chauncey Billups came from the Detroit Pistons in a trade for Allen Iverson - the trade for Billups worked out well for Denver, not so much for the Pistons.

The Denver Nuggets are in a loaded Western Conference so taking the next step to the NBA Finals will be no easy feet. This potentially could be the MVP season Carmelo Anthony which he hasn't had yet - granted Carmelo is still only 25 but his prime years are fast approaching. This could be the year of Carmelo, he maybe talked about in the same breathe as Lebron James and Kobe Bryant as the games best all around player, not just the best scorer in the league.

As a result, the Nuggets ended up beating the Hornets in five games, before easily defeating the Mavericks in round 2 of the NBA playoffs. Then it was on to the Western Finals against the Lakers.

The Denver Nuggets have the same core of players that had last season and it wasn't enough to beat the Lakers, maybe Denver can add one more piece to their team to give them a better chance this season. - 30797

It is difficult to try to break in the workforce when you have no resume and are very young. It has been a test of patience for many kids who need work to bring in some extra money for the family.

One of the places to find jobs are the online job websites and teenagers should be able to navigate them easily. Most teens have pretty much grown up with computers and so they should find the online job hunt easy. Unfortunately, the number of job listings online has been down because of the economy and the good ones are take quickly.

Any teenager hoping to find work now must be patient and persistent in their job search. Kids are back in school now so there is less competition among teens who can still hold down a part time job after work. The Indiana Pacers' Danny Granger had a breakout season, and put himself on the map as one of the best players in the NBA. Few people realize this, as the Indiana Pacers are a below average team that gets little coverage.

The Pacers defense was one of the worst in the NBA giving up more then 106 points per game for 26th in the NBA.

Granger was a one man show in Indiana, single handedly responsible for many of the team's 36 wins. His 25.8 points per game were the fifth highest in the NBA, and he was one of the only players in the league to average over one block and one steal per game.

The Central division should be an improvement overall - the Chicago Bulls are potentially a high 40 win team, the Cleveland Cavs acquired Shaquille O'Neal and will be the front runners.

Granger's 87.8 free throw percentage was also among the best in the NBA. Had the Pacers been a winning team last season, Granger would have received far more credit. Still, his game should continue to improve, and it's only a matter of time before Danny Granger becomes a household name.

The Pacers lack a scoring big man. Mike Dunleavy averaged 15 points per game but at 6-9 he isn't a true center but more a forward. We've gone through several games of basketball and I'd like to take a look at some of the predictions people made about NBA teams. I happen to disagree with some of the proclamations that were made, and I'd like to explain why. Let's determine the best NBA team.

As I write this, we're only a couple of weeks into the season. Many would say that we haven't seen enough basketball to make this determination, but I'm going to go out on a limb with a few proclamations that I do believe will hold true at the end of the season. Let's see if I'm right.

Some of the newer players on the best teams simply don't seem like good fits, in my opinion. In the same way that Allen Iverson was bad for the Pistons, I think that these guys will unfortunately have negative impacts on their new teams.

Ron Artest has gone to the Lakers. Sure, he's a great defensive player and he's incredibly talented, but I just don't think he's a team player.

I don't believe that Ron Artest wins his team games. He's a dramatic distraction to a team that had incredible chemistry.

As far as the Cavs go, Shaq is a different situation than the chemistry issues that Ron Artest may pose. His teammates will most likely love him. As far as the impact he has on the team goes, however, I'm not so sure that it's a good one. He's big and slow, and I think he's mixing things up too much.

With the Magic, I'm just not a fan of Vince Carter. I loved him during the earlier part of the decade, but I think that his best days were behind him and I do think that Hedo Turkoglu was a better fit for the team.

What gives the Bobcats some advantage is that they play in the Eastern Conference. The lower quality teams in the East are not as good as the lower quality teams in the West - therefore, the Bobcats are fortunate they play in the East.
